Making Your Web Pages Accessible

Create a html content pages with a clear and simple structure and consistent layout:

How do you do this?

Why? Breaking the content into sections and using lists increases the readability of the page. Using structural markup eg headings, in all files ie HTML, word processed documents, will ensure that Assistive Technology software can render that page with a structure that aids navigation and comprehension.

Next Tip: Provide summaries, and keep file sizes small

These tips may be applied to any web site or Vista course, and are derived from the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Accessibility Initiative but are not intended to reinterpret them. Web developers are encouraged to access the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines Version 1.0, directly.
