Images and animations - use a text equivalent:

• Use the 'alt' attribute to describe the function of each visual element (WCAG 1)
• Text alternatives to visual elements (WCAG2)

Image maps:

• Use the client-side map and text for hotspots (WCAG 1)

Multimedia - provide alternatives alongside the multimedia:

• Provide captioning and transcripts of audio, and descriptions of video (WCAG1)
• Synchronised alternatives to multimedia (WCAG2)

Hypertext links:

• Use link text that makes sense when read out of context. For example, avoid 'Click here' or 'More'.

Page organization:

• Use headings
• Proper lists
• Clear navigation
• Consistent presentation
• Use style sheets for layout and styles where possible.

Graphs and charts:

• Summarize or use the 'longdesc' attribute with images.

Scripts, applets and plug-ins:

• Provide alternative content in case active features are inaccessible or unsupported.

Frames:

• Use the no-frames element and
• Meaningful frame titles.

Tables:

• Make line-by-line reading sensible.
• Place a 'summary' in the table tag. The summary tag can be blank if the table is not a data table (WCAG2).
