The Centre for the Advancement of Learning and Teaching (in its previous incarnation, the Flexible Education Unit (FEU)) has been given the task in the University Plan: Building an Inclusive Community, The University of Tasmania Equity Plan, 2005-2007, PDF format, of ensuring University web sites are accessible to users. The Flexible Education Unit will address this requirement by following the World Wide Web Consortium Web Accessibility Initiative as the current best practice guidelines on web accessibility, and making their own web resources accessible and producing the following resources:

• Information sessions delivered to general and academic staff (express interest in attending an information session on web accessibility or arranging a session in your area)
• An Accessibility Evaluation Process tailored to UTAS Web Templates
• Resources provided for Vista Online Unit developers as part of the ‘Teaching Online Essentials’ course
