Things to do and see?
The local area offers things to do for all types of
people. For nature lovers there are great bush walking
tracks and National Parks offering a diverse array of
flora and fauna. The local saltwater fishing is good
with a variety of species abundant. Trout fishing is
regarded to be as good as anywhere in the world with
good waters are as close as 30 minutes drive. Scuba
diving and snorkelling are popular, with abalone and
crayfish abundant in areas.
The two hotels in Beauty Point attract a lot of students
and locals both offer good quality bistro meals, as
does the local restaurant. Some however prefer to venture
into Launceston where there is a more extensive array
of restaurants, cinemas, bars, hotels and nightclubs.
