Launceston Accommodation

Leprena

A University owned residence in an environment conducive to both effective study practices and responsible social development. Leprena was established in 1985. The word ‘Leprena’ is of Aboriginal origin and means ‘Home’. Offers catering facilities for every 5 to 6 students in modern self-contained kitchens, where residents can cater for their individual culinary needs.

Additional Catering Options for 2009

The rates quoted on the Schedule of Residential Fees are for accommodation only. In 2009 Accommodation Services will offer new and flexible catering arrangements for residents of Leprena and all other Accommodation Services locations. Please see our Catering Options 2009 page for further information and indicative pricing for meals.

Alternatively, students living in Leprena can provide their own food and share the responsibility for cleaning communal areas. Residents also have access to a variety of cafes and eating establishments both on campus and in Mowbray and the city. Students need to supply their own cooking equipment.
