Residents live amidst tranquil garden settings and
have easy access to all on-campus facilities. Your new
home is close enough to classes to enable you to prepare
lunch or retrieve books between lectures.
An easy 10 minute walk will get you
to the Mowbray Shopping Centre, with supermarkets, shops,
banks and a post office. You can catch a bus from the
campus to the city every 20 minutes.
A 10 minute drive will have you arriving
in the City of Launceston, the nation’s third
oldest city founded in 1805. The new Launceston Sea
Port offers various dining and café facilities
along with the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery
at Inveresk, which incorporates the Academy of Arts.
One of the city’s most stunning
and famous natural features is the Cataract Gorge, where
you’ll find walking and hiking tracks, abseiling
and rock climbing, lookouts, pool, suspension bridge,
Victorian gardens, peacocks and the world’s longest
single span chairlift.
Qantas and Virgin Airlines have regular
flights into Launceston. Tasmanian Shuttle Bus services
operate in Launceston at minimal cost and will drop
off at the University Campus.
