Launceston-based academic, Peter Dixon, is one of a team to gain funding from the Australian Government's Office of Learning and Teaching. The seed funding will be used to investigate key challenges of industry professionals (practitioners) in the career transition to academia. Australia needs more academics in some disciplines. The project seeks to identify the ways in which professional development, mentoring and other leadership models can assist in this transition.
Peter is the Associate Dean of Teaching and Learning at UTAS's Faculty of Business. The project team members come from three Australian universities; University of Tasmania, Macquarie University and the University of Queensland.
