The focus of this unit is the Corporations Act 2001, how it regulate the business activities of corporations and the role and powers of bodies such as the Australian Securities and Investments Commission. Topics covered in the unit include: the nature and operation of companies; company registration; the corporate constitution; fundraising; the roles and duties of directors and officers; takeovers; accounts and audit; corporate financial distress; winding up and liquidation.
