The School of Agricultural Science is based in Hobart at the Sandy Bay campus. In addition some staff and students are also based in the Launceston and Burnie campuses, New Town Research Laboratories and several research farms around the state. The University Farm at Cambridge, is just 20 km from the Sandy Bay campus.
The School is strongly supported with scholarships for undergraduate (ca.$150,000/year) and postgraduate students (ca. $600,000/year), many of which are provided by the industry which is keen to develop young talent. Thanks to strong links with industry, through our partner research arm TIA (Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture), we can offer a large number of scholarship opportunities and interesting agricultural and environmental research projects.
Through the School/TIA linkages, our students benefit from one of the best staff/student ratios in the country. We also have a strong social network within the School and Institute and host many fun, educational and exciting events.
So, come and study Agricultural Science and help discover solutions for the global food crisis, climate change adaption, land and water management and the technological innovations needed in the agri-food sector. Feed your mind, feed the world!
