The Horticultural Research Centre is adjacent to the School of Agricultural Science and comprises glasshouse facilities, plant growth rooms, fruit tree and grape trials and pilot scale essential oils extraction equipment.
At the Horticultural Research Centre (HRC) there are seven glasshouses, a walk-in phytotron, three shadehouses, a tissue culture growing-on room, three growth tunnels for photoperiod extension studies, a mist room for plant propagation, four small growth cabinets and an open and a terraced enclosure (Holding Area) protected from the wind. There are also various working areas (see diagram below).

At the Teaching Glasshouse Complex (TGC) there are five glasshouses, a shadehouse and a headhouse (see diagram below).
