I am currently …

I’m currently working in the local utilities as a Principal Engineer. I am also the University of Tasmania Alumni Network Contact for Singapore. I have been working in the engineering field for the past 20 years since graduation.  While studying at the university, I was actively involved in the Singapore Students Society serving on the committee. After returning home, I continued this passion to setup the University of Tasmania Singapore Alumni network together with other alumni. There were challenges throughout the journey of the Singapore Alumni but I believe it will get better as times goes by.

I chose to study at the University of Tasmania because…

At university I was inspired by …

At the university I was inspired by the dedication of the lecturers in their field of teaching and always remain approachable to their students.

I am proud of my University because...

I am proud of my university because it has given me a different prospective in the pursuit of knowledge and learning in tertiary education. Studying at an overseas university is once in a lifetime experience.

Today I'm motivated by…

Today I’m motivated by building a bond and cohesiveness among our University of Tasmania alumni through our Facebook group which has of 440 members, and through alumni events. I hope the  number of Singaporean alumni will keep rising and it is also my wish that I will be able to meet and get to know all of you in person one day.

My best piece of advice to current and future students is…

My best piece of advice to current or future students is, while you do well in your studies and step into the working society after graduation, please also join the alumni events and keep yourself updated with  the developments of your alma mater.  Do not hesitate to give a help to the Alumni if needed.
