The unit is a twin cassette deck with the left hand side being primarily used for playing tapes and the right hand side for recording. All controls are located on the cassette pop up page with the exception of the Eject buttons which are located on the unit.

To record
When recording, you must use either the lectern or lapel microphone as an audio input. The unit will automatically switch the tape over to the B side when it reaches the end of the A side. The unit requires about 8 secs to do this.
To confirm that it is recording correctly do a test before the lecture starts. Check the left and right level indicators on the tape deck which will fluctuate in sync with the recording audio.
