To connect the laptop
The cables to connect a laptop are located in the lectern or A/V cupboard:
- The HD 15 pin cable carries the video image up to the projector and must be connected from the port on the rear of the laptop to the interface plate located on the lectern (see Fig. 19).
- If you wish audio to be included with the laptop presentation there is an audio cable which connects from the laptop’s headphone socket to the two audio sockets on the auxiliary audio input plate on the lectern (see fig. 19).
You must ensure that the laptop audio is not muted so that volume can be controlled via the touch panel volume controls.
- There is also a network cable that will allow connection to the Internet. (Only those laptops that are registered with ITR will be able to access the Net.)
Please connect the HD 15 pin cable before turning on the laptop. This is important as generally the machine will recognise the cable is connected and transmit the image out and so up to the projector. However some laptops will require the user to activate this—press the Fn (Function) button along with the F4, F5 or F8 button. On Macs this is achieved by ‘Mirroring or Simulscan.

If the projected image appears to be cropped or partially missing then pressing the Reset Image button should make the projected image appear in full.
The Hide Image button blanks the projector image from the screen. It can remain blanked for up to twenty minutes before it will revert back to the on state.
