You will find the following equipment in the centrally supported lecture theatres:

Controls most theatre equipment; situated on the lectern

Dimmable lighting

Controlled through the touch panel

Audio volume control

Sound in the theatre controlled through the touch panel

In-house computer

‘Desktop model controlled through the touch panel and keyboard provided; PC generally; Mac in some cases

VCR

Controlled through the touch panel

DVD/CD player

Controlled through the touch panel

Audio-cassette deck

Twin deck for both recording and playing back; controlled through the touch panel

Document camera

For displaying documents, objects, transparencies; controlled through the touch panel

35mm slide projector

Twin projectors, capable of holding 80 slide carousels; controlled through the touch panel

Data projector

Ceiling mounted; controlled through the touch panel

Microphones

Fixed lectern microphone and lapel microphone

Overhead projector

For overhead transparencies; controlled from the projector

Whiteboard

Your ‘blackboard’

Phone

E.g. for assistance

 

On the lectern there are connection points for laptop video and audio, along with a connection point for an auxiliary video input—which could be a video / digital camera.
