Strategic Capital Planning

The University Plan identifies strategies to increase student numbers and improve research output to enable the University to meet the vision of aspiring to be ranked among the top echelon of research-led universities in Australia and to be a world leader in specialist, thematic areas, by 2010.

By adopting a strategic approach to Capital Planning the University will ensure that decisions relating to the provision, replacement and refurbishment of the built environment will be taken in accordance with agreed priorities. It will also ensure that capital funding will be expended in the most cost effective way to support the strategies resulting from the University Plan.

University Master Plan

The University has commissioned a firm of architects to prepare a new Master Plan for the various campuses and sites. The Plan is being developed in consultation with the University community and interested external stakeholders. As part of the process, reference has been made to existing plans detailed below. The Master Plan consultancy has been extended to include the Australian Maritime College property, hence The Master Plan document is envisaged to be reviewed and endorsed by University Council by November 2006.
