TravelSmart is a travel demand management initiative of the Department of the Environment and Heritage through the Australian Greenhouse Office.
"Travelsmart is about reducing our reliance on cars and making smart choices about other forms of transport. We can all play a part in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving the quality of life for ourselves and our communities." Travelsmart Australia web site www.travelsmart.gov.au

Testimonials of Successful Carpool Matches
"This is an excellent program. I have made a new friend living close by. And we now travel together each day. Our arrangement works well since. It is the driver who has the most regular hours, 9-5, and it is the Passenger who is less regular as phd candidate. We make arrangements. Around going to the shops etc after work and we have come to an Agreement, where the passenger bakes bread for the driver, to accommodate the transport costs. Win Win".
"All arrangements have worked really well. It has been a great way to make a new friend and meet people in the UTAS community".
