Current research in architectural and design histories and theories is concentrated in areas of indigenous interiority, colonial architectural history, Australian architecture, heritage and conservation, landscape and urban histories and theories. Academics in the School of Architecture and Design are also involved in interdisciplinary research spanning architecture, design, visual and performing arts and philosophy, especially in relation to understandings of place, 'publics', urbanity, phenomenology and ethics.
