The Visual Communication Studio has a large open plan teaching area; a seminar room with audio visual facilities; photocopier; a design resource area; a separate working space for 3rd year students equipped with high-end computers, graphics tablets; vinyl cutter and colour A3 printer. Students also have access to the main computing lab, which consists of Macintosh computers running current graphic software packages.
The Studio introduces Visual Communication students to a wide range of design approaches, which relate to both practical and theoretical principles as well as social, ethical and professional implications.
Students are exposed to professional practice seminars and lectures through a program of isiting practitioners and guest speakers. The studio also runs a professional practice program called GAP, which gives students hands on experience working with clients and industry based projects.
