Two recent graduates from the Tasmanian College of the Arts have been awarded Australia Council ArtStart grants.
Peter Waller graduated with a PhD in 2012, and Phillipa Stafford with Honours in Fine Arts in 2011.
The purpose of the ArtStart program is to provide financial assistance (up to $10,000) to recent creative arts graduates who are committed to establishing a career as a professional art maker.
Grants across all Australia Council funded art form areas are provided to support services, resources, skills development and equipment that help graduate art makers to build an income-generating career in the arts practice they have studied. ArtStart is not age dependent; however applicants must have completed an eligible creative arts course in the three years prior, or will complete their study prior to the commencement of their ArtStart year.
