Study Plans

The following study plans are designed to assist you in planning your degree. All planners are blank, allowing you to fill in the gaps according to what you are studying.

Advanced Standing (Credit)

Advanced Standing is the recognition of prior studies, from either another institution or another course at this University, that may count towards the requirements for the degree you are applying for at the University of Tasmania. Students can apply for Advanced Standing (or credit) by submitting an:

Cross Institutional Study

The College of Arts and Law supports you making the most of the opportunities available to you in your studies with us. Cross institutional study is a great option to study units at another university that are not available at UTAS. These units can count towards your UTAS degree as advanced standing. We also welcome students from other institutions studying our units.

Please contact student support staff for more information about specific units you are interested in. If units have not been previously approved, you may need to obtain unit outlines from the other institution for assessment.

Assignment Submission

Please refer to your unit outline available in MyLO for the specific assignment submission instructions, deadlines, process for applying for an extension and policy regarding calculation of late penalties that are applicable in that specific unit.

Assignment submission If you are unable to submit your assignment online please contact your unit coordinator to make alternative submission arrangements. In most cases, assignments submitted by post to the unit coordinator will be accepted as having been submitted on the date that they were sent (provided that the envelope is clearly post-marked as evidence).

Online Study (Off-campus or Distance Education) Information regarding assignment submission for units studied either wholly online or via correspondence will also be included in your unit outline. Academic Progress

Immediately following the approval of the end-of-year examination results a review of the academic performance of each student enrolled in an award program takes place.

Students who fail a given percentage of their total enrolment or those who have failed the same unit for a second time are the subject of special review. Academic Progress Review (APR) involves an assessment of all students' results and the identification of those students who are experiencing issues with their academic progress in a given semester. The outcome of this review may result in a decision about the status of your enrolment.
