Gender Studies asks questions about the ways in which gender shapes contemporary life in Australia and in other societies, and how it has shaped life in the past.
Through gender studies, you'll consider how gender relations are always shaped by other differences like race, class and sexuality.
A range of issues is discussed, including popular culture, the workforce, globalisation, fashion and the body, and the ways that masculinities and femininities are changing across these arenas. Feminist and other critical perspectives frame big and small questions and look for complex answers.
