Japan is a long-term trade partner with a strong tradition of exchange with Australia. This has created an on-going demand, particularly in Japan, for Australians with high levels of Japanese language skills and Japanese cultural literacy. Japan also has close links to other parts of mainland Asia.
With its energetic blend of the contemporary and the traditional, Japan has become a world leader in popular culture fields such as manga, animation (anime), fashion and gaming.
