1. When will I receive my course material?
Your study package will be mailed out approximately 2 weeks before
the start of each semester. If you are studying more than 1 unit,
you may receive a separate mail-out for each unit.
If you haven't received your study package by the start of semester
contact the Distance Education Office.
2. How do I get an ID card if I can't get on campus?
- Provide a good electronic photographic image (e.g.
passport).
- Provide a scanned proof of identity such as a drivers
licence or if not available electronically, a photocopy of
the drivers licence with signed verification of the true copy.
- Your student ID Number.
This information should be forwarded to the Admission Office by
either mail or e-mail.

5. How do I get in touch with my lecturer?
Your lecturer will always be available to you by either e-mail,
telephone, on campus at consultation times, at study schools or
you can leave a message with the Distance Education Office.

6. Can I find out if there are any other students in my area to
form a study group?
- If your unit is MyLO based, you could post questions
on the discussion board.
- Attend study schools and meet other students.
7. Can I start my degree mid year?

8. How can I learn how to use computers?
Free Online IT Training for Students
A wide range of IT training materials are available to university
staff and students. Courses can be accessed either on or off campus,
using your university email account name and password as authentication.
Alternatively the IT Training Offline CD's can be borrowed from
the Library.

9. What if I don't have a home computer?
The University of Tasmania and Faculty of Arts have 24 hour access
computer labs for students including distance education students.
To gain access to the Faculty of Arts computer labs
