1. International Exchange
Programs:
The University of Tasmania has formal links with a number of overseas institutions. The agreements permit Utas students to study at those institutions without paying tuition fees, for a period of one or two semesters. Students remain enrolled at the University of Tasmania, in special enrolment codes, and pay HECS. Applications are called on a twice-yearly basis and applicants are ranked on the basis of their academic performance. Applicants must have completed at least one year of full time study in the Faculty and have no outstanding fees, such as library fines or outstanding Services & Amenities fees. Students interested in taking part in this program should check notice boards in the Faculty when applications are called. In addition, a list of Universities involved in the scheme are shown at the International Student Office, along with their Website addresses. Students are encouraged to check these websites to help them decide on a program which is attractive to them. Costs: students pay the airfares, accommodation and living expenses, as well as HECS. International students pay fees as per their normal University courses.

4. Study Abroad:
The Faculty also permits students to undertake study
overseas on an individual basis at Universities or other institutions
which are not part of the formal International Exchange Program.
Students must first seek permission of Faculty so that the value
of the program can be assessed and credit awarded. Students are
liable to pay tuition fees at the institution but would not have
to pay HECS. Interested students are advised to make contact with
the relevant School to discuss possible programs. Costs: students
pay the airfares, accommodation and living expenses plus tuition
fees for the program.
