The School of Social Sciences announces the Bachelor of Arts, Professional Honours in Human Services Practice.
The School of Social Sciences, Faculty of Arts at UTAS is please to announce the introduction of the Bachelor of Arts, Professional Honours in Human Services Practice, to begin in 2013.
Bachelor of Arts, Professional Honours - Human Services Practice (HSP)
Developed in consultation with the Tasmanian Department of Health and Human Services and community services practitioners, this course will have a specific focus on professional practice in human services with a strong practical basis.
With a flexible course structure for human service practitioners including online delivery plus intensive workshops, the course is offered as a part time program with up to three years for completion.
In addition, ongoing HECS-fee waivers are also available for all students who enroll in 2013 and complete within the allotted time (Subject to current funding for universities remaining unchanged).
A Graduate Certificate in Human Services Practice option is available for people who exit after completing 50% of the Professional Honours program.
First electives for 2013 include Interviewing Skills for Change (Motivational Interviewing), Supervision in Practice, Supervising Social Work Placements and Case Management.
Enrolments open in August and the first units are available in September.
