This four day workshop is designed to give you the tools and knowledge base to integrate innovation into your business strategy. Participants will learn elements of innovation including:
- An understanding of creativity
- Application of innovation to the food industry at a business level
- Effects on commercialisation and entrepreneurship
- Food security and challenges to the food industry
- Regionalisation versus globalisation
- Innovation systems and their use for analysing and developing regions and hubs
Local, national and international cases studies will be drawn upon to illustrate this theory, as well as case studies of innovative food businesses and entrepreneurs.
Additionally, guest speakers will be invited to provide their unique insight and knowledge into the industry.
Venue: Hobart
Dates: 15, 16 and 17 October and 18 November 2013
Time: 9am to 5pm
There are two options available for participants:
- Professional Development participants - attend the first three days of the workshop and receive a Certificate of Attendance
- Postgraduate participants - attend the full four day workshop and complete assessments to receive one unit credit towards a postgraduate degree**
Assessment includes:
- Food innovation case study
- Poster and oral presentation
