Dr Ann Torugsa is a Research Fellow at the AIRC. Since joining in September 2010, Ann has worked on several research projects including: Tasmanian Innovation Census; Developing a Datacard for Public Sector Innovation; Baseline Survey of the Cost of Administrative and Regulatory Compliance to Tasmanian Businesses and the Level of Engagement of Tasmanian Businesses with Digital Economy; and Export and Innovation Indicators.
Ann holds a PhD in Management (2010) and a Master of International Business (2007) from the University of Tasmania. Her doctoral research examined the role of the economic, social and environment dimensions of proactive corporate social responsibility (CSR) on the association between a set of strategic capabilities and financial performance in small and medium enterprises.
Ann has a broad range of research interests covering CSR, innovation management (in both the private and public sectors), collaboration on innovation, knowledge transfer, synergies between technological and non-technological innovations, social innovation, quantitative methodology and strategic management in general. She has published research articles in journals such as the Journal of Business Ethics, the International Journal of Innovation Management and Strategic HR Review, and has co-authored book chapters with publishers such as Wiley-ISTE and Edward Elgar Publishing. One of her works has been listed as 'Top 10 CSR Research Findings of 2012' by the Network for Business Sustainability at the Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario in Canada.
Ann is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Business Theory and Practice, and a referee on several occasions for the Journal of Business Ethics, the International Journal of Human Resource Management and Management Research Review.
