Robert Wallace is a Research Associate with the AIRC. His current area of research is in the private agribusiness and food sector and how it can benefit by applying innovation.
With a strong interest in regional development and the impact of government policy on business, Robert was appointed a Director of Northern Tasmania Development, a regional development company that facilitates and coordinates the economic and social development of Northern Tasmania.
Robert has worked in agribusiness for thirty years, the majority of that time with large private corporations. For the past ten years he has been the principal of Launceston based Quality Consultants Pty Ltd, a business management consulting firm with a strong focus on corporate development, business strategy, project management, marketing, international trade, and corporate cultural change. The client base is both national and international. Robert is often used as a key presenter and speaker at forums, seminars and workshops. Robert has a passion for regional Australia and believes it is the ‘engine room' of the Australian economy.
Over the past 20 years Robert has served as a director on a range of corporate, industry and government boards, in addition to many international business development and marketing missions.
Robert holds a Master of Agribusiness from the University of Melbourne; is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors; the Australian Association of Agricultural Consultants; the Australian Institute of Agricultural Science and Technology; the Quality Society of Australasia (RABQSA); and is an RABQSA - Registered Associate Auditor.
Robert currently heads the Tasmanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI).
