Description

The Graduate Certificate in International Business offers students the foundational skills to practise as a manager in a global context the course places emphasis on the determination and assessment of best business practise, informed by the application of appropriate, sound, theoretical foundations drawn from a variety of interdisciplinary sources. This degree is also a pathway for students wishing to complete full study in this area, with the Master of International Business.

Students are required to complete four units from the following list successfully: 

  • BEA683 Economics for Managers
  • BEA702 International Financial Management   
  • BEA703 International Trade        
  • BMA774 International Business Management   
  • BMA777 International Human Resource Management    
  • BMA785 International Marketing        
  • BMA799 Strategic Management
  • LAW663 International Trade Law

Graduate studies have an important place in management development. They offer individuals aspiring to either general management or senior functional management roles the opportunity to develop competencies relevant to the effective management of enterprises. This course will provide an opportunity to specialize in an area of business offering greater academic rigour with a practical focus.

Successfully completed postgraduate units in other courses at the University of Tasmania or another approved tertiary institution may be credited towards the degree. Credit is also available for some qualifications attained through professional bodies, where these have been assessed as equivalent to postgraduate study.
