*International students may only undertake distance studies if they are in thir home country or a country other than Australia Studies in this area are not avaliable to international students on the Launceston Campus.

Duration: .05 years full-time. Part-time available*
*Part-time studies are not available to international students.

Intake: February, July

Entry Requirements: Academic entry requirements: Australian Bachelor degree or equivalent Work experience entry requirements: Six months relevant work experience.
Alternative entry: Non- graduates with demonstrated managerial competencies and least seven years relevant work experience.

Description

The Graduate Certificate in Management offers students the opportunity to enhance their professional skills in business management. This degree is also a pathway for students wishing to complete full study in this area, articulating to the Graduate Diploma of Business Administration and then the Master of Business Administration (MBA).

Students are required to complete three core units, plus one elective unit successfully.

  • BFA582 Financial Reporting and Analysis
  • BFA682 Law for Managers
  • BFA772 Finance for Managers
  • BMA506 Foundations of Marketing
  • BMA581 Organisational Behaviour
  • BMA774 International Business Management
  • BMA799 Strategic Management

Graduate studies have an important place in management development. They offer individuals aspiring to either general management or senior functional management roles, the opportunity to develop competencies relevant to the effective management of enterprises.

Successfully completed postgraduate units in other courses at the University of Tasmania or another approved tertiary institution may be credited towards the degree. Credit is also available for some qualifications attained through professional bodies, where these have been assessed as equivalent to postgraduate study. Please apply for credit at the time of application for admission.
