Entry Requirements:
Academic entry requirements Australian bachelor or postgraduate degree in a non-accounting discipline, or equivalent; OR
A four unit Graduate Certificate in Accounting or equivalent from an approved tertiary institution.
Alternative entry Accounting qualifications assessed as equivalent to an Australian bachelor degree may be accepted for some international applicants.
Non-graduates with relevant work experience or other special circumstances may be approved.

The Graduate Diploma of Professional Accounting is designed to offer students from different academic and experiential backgrounds the opportunity to specialise in accounting for professional recognition purposes.
Students are able to combine core studies in accounting with another field of study by completing a specialisation. Specialisations include: Business Management, Corporate Governance, Human Resource Management, Information Systems, International Business and Marketing.
This degree meets the academic entry requirements for membership of the professional accounting bodies including CPA Australia, the Institute of Public Accountants (IPA), and the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICAA).
Students are required to successfully complete 12 core units, plus four units from the specialisation of choice.
The students are then able to pursue professional year studies with accounting bodies to become an accountant.
Successfully completed postgraduate units in other courses at the University of Tasmania or another approved tertiary institution may be credited towards the degree. Credit is also available for some qualifications attained through professional bodies, where these have been assessed as equivalent to postgraduate study. Please apply for credit at the time of application for admission.
