Duration: 3 years part-time *. Full-time where unit offerings allow.
*Part-time studies are not available to international students.

Entry Requirements: Academic entry requirements: Australian Bachelor degree or equivalent.
Work experience entry requirements: Two years relevant work experience. Alternative entry: Successful completion of the UTAS Graduate Certificate in Management, or Graduate Certificate in Business, or equivalent. Applications may also be considered from students who have completed a Graduate Certificate in an area related to their professional specialisation.

The Master of Business Administration (Professional) provides essential knowledge and skills for board operational and strategic management, as well as for specific field of practise. Students will study a core of common business studies to give a firm grounding in management, while simultaneously enabling study in a particular field of expertise. This course structure aims to closely integrated best business practice with specialised professional practice. Upon graduation, 'Professional' in the degree title is replaced with the name of the professional specialisation completed.

Note: courses marked with * are not available to International students as they are either offered by distance or not available full time on the campus they are offered.
Students are required to successfully complete six core units, two business electives and four professional specialisation units.

Graduate studies have an important place in management development. They offer individuals aspiring to either general management or senior functional management roles the opportunity to develop competencies relevant to the effective management of enterprises.
Successfully completed postgraduate units in other courses at the University of Tasmania or another approved tertiary institution may be credited towards the degree. Credit is also available for some qualifications attained through professional bodies, where these have been assessed as equivalent to postgraduate study. Please apply for credit at the time of application for admission.
