Degree Rules Master of Business Administration (C7H)
Entry Requirements: Academic entry requirements: Australian Bachelor degree or equivalent Alternative entry: Successful completion of the UTAS Graduate Certificate in Management, Graduate Diploma in Business Administration, Masters of Business Administration or equivalent.

This degree is designed to provide graduates with a strong foundation in the core aspects of management. Graduates gain broad management knowledge and the skills to effectively manage an organisation at both operational and strategic levels. Focus is placed on gaining and sustaining competitive advantage in the market place.
Students are also able to combine core studies in management with another field of study. Specialisations include: Corporate Governance, Finance, Human Resource Management, Information Systems, International Business, Journalism and Media Studies, International relations, Marketing and Professional Accounting. Students who undertake the MBA (Professional Accounting) meet the academic entry requirements for membership of CPA Australia.
Suitable for people already in positions of responsibility who possess higher management and leadership potential, or those who aspire to general management or senior functional management roles.
Students are required to successfully complete nine core units, three elective units, and four units in the specialisation of choice.
Graduate studies have an important place in management development. They offer individuals aspiring to either general management or senior functional management roles, the opportunity to develop competencies relevant to the effective management of enterprises.
Successfully completed postgraduate units in other courses at the University of Tasmania or another approved tertiary institution may be credited towards the degree. Credit is also available for some qualifications attained through professional bodies, where these have been assessed as equivalent to postgraduate study. Please apply for credit at the time of application for admission.
