This degree provides graduates with the opportunity to combine computing and economcis degrees. The program is specifically structured program which merges the core requirements of two different degrees. It enables students to graduate with the equivalent of two degrees in an accelerated time period. Combined degrees offer students the advantage of greater depth and diversity of subject choices, and broader career opportunities. There are no specific prerequisite subjects for this degree but success at the senior secondary level any of the following subjects: English, Business Studies, Mathematics, Economics, Accounting would be an advantage to your studies at University.
Note: Students who have not successfully completed a pre-tertiary maths or an equivalent must complete UPP090 Bridging Maths or BEA109 Introduction to Quantitative Methods before enrolling in the unit BEA140 Quantitative Methods which is a requirement of the degree.
Students are encouraged to apply for recognition of prior learning, which includes formal study undertaken in recognised tertiary institutions, or other demonstrated learning achievement such as a diploma. When applying, you will be asked if you wish to gain credit for previous study. Please indicate 'yes' and ensure that certified copies of your certificates of completion are provided to the admissions office.
Submitting you application is the first step to becoming a student. If successful you will receive an offer. You must accept this offer online via the estudent centre.

Whether on-campus of off-campus, each student should allow approximately 10 hours of focussed study per unit, per week.
It is certainly possible to move degrees once you are at University, but this often depends on how much study you have completed in your current degree, and if you meet the entry requirements for the degree you are wishing to transfer to.
Many students are unsure about what major to undertake initially. We advise you enrol in the degree and decide by the end of the first semester. You will not be disadvantaged. All students are required to complete the same core units within the degree before they begin their major area of study.
