Staff Parking Permit

Staff parking permits are available to current full-time, part-time, casual and honorary University of Tasmania staff only.

^Hobart CBD parking includes the Medical Science Precinct, the Domain, the Conservatorium, the Tasmanian College of the Arts, Hunter Street and IMAS Castray Esplanade.

If you are a fractional staff member and your gross annual salary is below $59,458 (equivalent to the top of the HEO-4 classification range for a full-time staff member), then you can pay the HEO 1-4 rate listed above.

If you already hold a 2014 staff permit you will be contacted by Campus Services towards the end of the year with information on permit issuing for 2015.



  










Casual Staff Parking Permit

Casual staff (including postgraduate students who are required to be on campus full time) cannot apply for a parking permit using the online parking application system. Instead, casual staff must complete the casual staff permit application form and have it signed by their head of school/section.

 

Access Parking Permit


Student Parking Permit - Sandy Bay and Newnham Campuses

There are a limited number of student-only reserved parking bays on the Sandy Bay and Newnham campuses. If you are a current UTAS student, you can collect a student parking permit free of charge from the Student Centre on the Sandy Bay or Newnham campus. Student-permit parking bays are marked with red dots and are sign-posted as student permit parking.

Student-permit parking bays are located in the Grace Street car park and on College Road on the Sandy Bay campus, and beside Leprena in the main car park on the Newnham campus.

 

Student parking permits are valid for student permit parking bays only (marked with red dots), and are not valid for general (UTAS staff) permit parking bays (white dots).
 


Student Parking Permit - Conservatorium (Tasmanian College of the Arts)

Students enrolled at the Conservatorium of Music (Tasmanian College of the Arts) are eligible to apply for a permit which entitles the permit holder to search for a parking space in the respective voucher controlled car park only, and in spaces as indicated by blue road markers.

This permit is available to Conservatorium of Music (Tasmanian College of the Arts) students only. The permit allows students to purchase vouchers for display in UTAS voucher parking bays outside the Conservatorium of Music. To apply for a student parking permit, fill in the Conservatorium of Music student parking permit application form (PDF 34.5KB) and submit the form to the security office at the Conservatorium

Student Parking Permit - Tasmanian College of the Arts, Hunter Street

Students enrolled at the Tasmanian College of the Arts at Hunter Street are eligible to apply for a permit which entitles the permit holder to search for a parking space in the respective voucher controlled car park only, and in spaces as indicated by blue road markers.

This permit is available to Tasmanian College of the Arts, Hunter Street students only. The permit allows students to purchase vouchers for display in UTAS voucher parking bays outside the Tasmanian College of the Arts, Hunter Street. To apply for a student parking permit, fill in the Tasmanian College of the Arts Hunter Street student parking permit application form (PDF 30.5KB) and submit the form to the security office at the Tasmanian College of the Arts.

Residential Parking Permit

The University provides a limited number of residential parking spaces for residents at the Sandy Bay and Newnham campuses.

Residential parking permits are managed by Accommodation Services. More information about residential parking permits is available on the current residents section of the Accommodation Services website

Obtaining a Replacement Permit

  • A replacement permit may be issued subject to satisfactory information regarding the loss or destruction of the permit being provided, and subject to payment of $10.00 to the University Cashier.
  • Following payment to the cashier, please complete the Replacement Parking Permit application (43.4KB) form and return this form and receipt to Campus Services.
