One focus of first year study in the School of Education is for students to acquire literacy skills, including basic skills such as grammar, punctuation and spelling, and more advanced literacy skills such as academic writing, targeted reading, appropriate referencing and critical thinking. In line with this focus, literacy instruction is being integrated into the first year curriculum.
