Australia needs more qualified professionals in engineering, mathematics and science education, health and other sciences. This project addresses this need by developing tailored mathematical pathways from key VET qualifications to specific University courses in the areas of Education and Engineering (stage 1). Additional VET to university pathways will be developed in stage 2.
The University of Tasmania along with Flinders University, James Cook University and the University of Notre Dame-Australia and their VET partners will design these pathways to assist VET qualified students with the tools required to succeed in their chosen University course.
These pathways will allow the University to assess the skills of the VET students and provide the resources and support needed to build their mathematical skills.
These pathways are being designed as Open Educational Resources which ensures flexible delivery online. Pathways will be AQF compliant and offer credit where appropriate.
Support for this project has been provided by the Australian Government Office for Learning and Teaching. The views in this website do not necessarily reflect the views of the Australian Government Office for Learning and Teaching.
