The symposium was an opportunity for staff, from UTAS and beyond, to be informed and involved in discussions and workshops about how social inclusion applies to them (for instance in supporting and teaching students) and what best practice might be. The symposium was funded by the Association for Academic Language and Learning (AALL) and the UTAS Student Experience Committee.
