Jane is the Lecturer for Bridging Maths (UPP075) in the UPP program, and Transition Maths - Methods in the Bachelor of General Studies program. In addition to lectures, she runs tutorial classes and supported study sessions.
2013 Winner: Prize for Science/Maths Teaching in Secondary School, UTas, Faculty of Science, Engineering and Technology.
2011 Winner: AITSL Tasmanian Secondary Teacher of the Year Award.
2010 Winner: Australian Academy of Science - Teachers Award.
2009 Winner: Best National Achievement - Excellence by a Beginning Teacher, Teaching Australia, Teaching Awards.
2008 Beginning Teacher Award, Australian College of Educators.
Jane is interested in the transition of students from low socioeconomic backgrounds into post year 10 education pathways. She is particularly interested in research looking at making science and maths courses more accessible to students with little background in the subject area.
