ON THE TRAIL OF GENGHIS KHAN – TIM COPE
At Open Day 2013 on the Cradle Coast campus, our special guest was writer, filmmaker and adventurer, Tim Cope.
Tim was the National Geographic Adventure Honouree 2007 and Australian Adventurer of the year 2006. At just 30 years old, Tim is pursuing a life of adventure, writing and film.
Tim speaks fluent Russian, and guides in Antarctica, Siberia, and Mongolia, has spent around five years travelling in regions of Russia, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, and Ukraine by bicycle, row boat, skis, horse, camel and many other means.
Tim shared his personal discoveries of getting to know people in their unique home environments and traveling in traditional and local ways, and gave an insight into his popular six part ABC TV Series: 'The Trail of Genghis Khan.'
Tim’s new book 'On the trail of Genghis Khan: An epic journey through the land of the nomads' was released by Bloomsbury Worldwide in August 2013.
