Menzies Research Institute Tasmania, an institute of the University of Tasmania, celebrated its 25th anniversary on Friday 10 May. The celebration showcased 25 years of research discoveries as Menzies enters another exciting phase of growth in 2013.
Award-winning science writer and broadcaster Bernie Hobbs hosted a debate on the topic: Vitamin D: Should a regular screening program be introduced in Australia?
Menzies received an overwhelming response from supporters and the Tasmanian public wanting to be part of this milestone celebration.

At the Menzies Research Institute Tasmania our aspiration is to contribute significantly to human health and wellbeing, with particular emphasis upon research that takes advantage of Tasmania’s unique population resource and other competitive advantages.
Research efforts focus on preventing a range of diseases including cancer, multiple sclerosis, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic lung disease, osteoporosis, mental health and dementia.
Menzies undertakes nationwide studies and collaborations with interstate and international researchers.
