‘Climate change I think is one of the biggest challenges of our generation.
I’m a lecturer here at the Australian Maritime College. What I actually mainly do at the moment is research into the social dimensions of climate change - I’m interested in how people and communities can get involved in environmental decision making but also being part of working out how to respond to climate change. You need to work out how to use the science and that’s where my collaboration with other members of UTAS is really important.
‘It really strikes me that in order to get the solutions what we need to do is work with people. We have a number of world class scientists and researchers here that are working really collaboratively on the issues, it’s a really unique opportunity that I wouldn’t get in many other places.’
