In 2010 UTas researchers Drs. Scott Pedersen and Dean Cooley created “Exertime”, a computer-based health initiative to reduce the amount of occupational sitting time by office-based employees. Exertime contains a series of physical activities that are suitable to be completed at a desk or around the office. Subsequently, a partnership was formed with Tasmania Police to trial this intervention called Project PAUSE (Physical Activity Using Short-burst Exercise). This video elaborates on the Exertime philosophy and provides testimonials by Tasmanian Police office-based personnel who are currently utilizing this innovative software.
