‘Our main project at the moment is a field experiment called The TasFACE Project - which is a field based climate change impacts facility and is one of only a few in the world, and the only one in the country that is actually simulating what the climate will be like in fifty years time in a natural ecosystem. The areas that are excellent for doing this type of research are the temperate zones, because it is in the temperate zones where the changes are going to be most dramatic and it is vital that this research is followed through, otherwise we really are not going to have any hope of keeping the world a productive place to live into the future.’
