The role of the Division of the Chief Operating Officer is to support the University's core activities of teaching & learning and research. The Division is committed to providing high quality and coordinated administrative and support services to the students, staff and stakeholders of the University of Tasmania in the following areas:
In an environment with increasing competition and deregulation of higher education policies the Division must be flexible and efficient in business planning and practices including streamlined and innovative approaches to the delivery of administrative services. We will need to be forward focused with plans and priorities that clearly articulate University objectives, priorities and client needs.
Primary ingredients in the success of the Division in meeting organisation goals in the current environment will be the hard work, commitment, integrity and focus of Divisional staff, as well as management support for innovation, continuous improvement and the development of ideas.
