Marine scientists work within a variety of disciplines including biology, ecology, chemistry, geology, fisheries, aquaculture, meteorology, oceanography, palaeontology, physics and mathematics. Critical questions about the function, biodiversity, sustainable exploitation and conservation of oceans require scientists to work together in order to solve complex problems. The University of Tasmania offers students of Marine Science unique opportunities and access to field sites and specialist equipment for studying the marine environment, including boats, diving equipment and aquaria.
This program enables early career researchers, currently working or studying in Tasmania, to travel to France to undertake study missions to acquire a specific training or qualification, strengthen cooperation and expand international networks and gain recognition for their work.
