Procedures and Processes for Dealing with Disputes and Grievances |

| |
Procedures and processes for dealing with disputes and grievances are outlined on pages 23-24 of the Graduate Research Resource Book http://www.research.utas.edu.au/gr/docs/resource_book.pdf
If you are having any problems with your candidature it is recommended you tackle them without delay to minimise any disruption to your studies.
The first contact to resolve problems should be the Director of the QMS PhD Program in his role as QMS Graduate Research Coordinator. Depending on the issue the Director may refer you to your first-named supervisor or the Graduate Research Coordinator in your School. If the Director is also your supervisor, you should speak with your School's Graduate Research Coordinator or Head of School. You are encouraged to resolve disputes and grievances within the QMS PhD program and/or your School where ever possible. The Director is obliged to keep a record of any dispute and provide a copy to the Graduate Research Coordinator in your School.
If a resolution to the problem is not achieved then a formal letter of complaint can be sent to the Dean of Graduate Research or the Secretary of the Board of Graduate Research. The Secretary of the Board of Graduate Research can be contacted by the candidate at any stage in the resolution of a complaint.
