Apply to University College today

Ready to take the next step? Congratulations!

Follow the instructions below to complete your application. Having trouble logging in or submitting your application? Let us help you- call 1800 788 244 or email us.

Step 1: Find your course

To find the full range of University College courses available, go to and search through our range of associate degrees and pathway programs like the University Preparation Program (UPP) and Diploma of University Studies (DUS).

Step 2: Include a few more options

When applying for study with UC, you can select up to five course preferences in your application. As such, make sure to include any other courses that may be of interest to you. If you are unsure if you will be given an offer into your course of choice, include one of our pathway programs (UPP and DUS) as another preference. If you are unsure about what to include in your list of preferences, call our friendly student advisors on 1800 788 244 or by emailing us - they will be able to give you great advice about the best options for you.

Step 3: Check the important dates

Make sure you check the key application dates so you can see when applications open and close.

Step 4: Make the most of your experience- apply for a scholarship

As part of the University of Tasmania, you have access to a range of scholarships that can help financially assist you during your studies. We encourage everyone to apply!

Step 5: See if you may be able to apply for recognition for prior learning

Did you know you might be able to receive credit for previous studies or work experience? This credit may count towards your UC course, which means you won’t have to complete all the subjects or units listed for your course. To receive credit for prior learning, you need to apply for credit separately to your course application.

For more information about recognition for prior learning/credit/advanced standing, click here.

Step 6: Let us enrol you

If you have applied to study a University College Associate Degree and been accepted, you will be automatically enrolled into your first year of subjects/units. These subjects/units will be selected based on whether you have indicated you will be studying full-time or part-time. Each of the course pages on our website include a list of the subjects/units you will be enrolled in, however if you need further information about the enrolment process or would like to alter your enrolment, please call 1800 788 244 or email us.

Students who are studying the University Preparation Program (UPP) and the Diploma of University Studies (DUS)  will need to enrol in individual units as you will not be automatically enrolled in these.
