CAIA holds smaller, more intimate Winter Symposia in the years in which we do not organise a large conference. These events are located in different, non-university spaces, and encourage conversations between academics and disciplines on specific themes.
Winter Symposium 2012 "Curating Culture," Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery, Inveresk, 20-21 June
CAIA's 2012 Winter Symposium "Curating Cultures" will be held at the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery, Inveresk on Wednesday 20 June and Thursday 21 June.
The symposium brings together an exciting range of speakers, including Harriet Ritvo from MIT, Wendy Webster from the University of Huddersfield, UK and a delegation of scholars from Zhejiang University, Hangzhou.
As with all of our Winter Symposia, numbers are strictly limited so if you would like to attend please RSVP to CAIA centre by 15 June 2012. For catering purposes please advise any dietary requirements with your RSVP.
The symposium will conclude with a public talk on Thursday 21 June by Professor Guan Changlong, Institute for Ancient Books, Zhejiang University, Hangzhou followed by dinner at MeWah Restaurant, Inveresk.
