Commercial Services and Development is responsible for UTAS property management. Managed properties include buildings and land allotments that are owned, rented, leased or licenced to occupy by UTAS.
Authority to purchase land, or to negotiate a lease, a licence to occupy or a rental agreement for a building or land must be obtained from the Executive Director Commercial Services and Development, Jacinta Young prior to commencing any negotiations with non-University property owners or businesses.
Commercial Services and Development will coordinate the legal process associated with the formalisation of an appropriate property agreement through the University’s Governance and Legal Office.
All formal property documentation must be signed in accordance with the University's delegations of authority. Depending on the particular property matter, the authorised delegate may be the University Council, the Vice Chancellor or the Chief Operating Officer.
Commercial Services and Development (CSD) maintains a register of leases, licences to occupy and rental agreements. CSD manages a range of property administration matters including:
